Who is not ready for Spring? I don’t think you could find anyone who would not welcome the fresh warm air, the beauty of all the first spring flowers popping up to bless us with their happy faces, and opening up windows and doors to let warmth and light in.
Spring also gets us motivated to clean out the closed in stuffiness of winter, to freshen up our homes and yards. There really is nothing more satisfying than having clean windows, newly painted walls, carpets cleaned, etc. To know that we can do all of this and more with safe, non-toxic cleaners, and earth responsible green products is even better.
Here is a very basic and easy recipe for a scouring powder that you can make with common household ingredients:
1 cup baking soda
1/4 cup borax
essential oil drops (scent of your choice)
Mix soda and borax together in a shaker, add essential oil.
Shake well together, then shake onto the surface you want to clean.
This is simple, easy, and very economical. Very friendly to our environment, and you can use any scent you prefer.
I know for some people spring cleaning is something they look forward to, me, not so much. But it does need to be done, and of course I always feel better when I’m finished. So when I look around and take inventory I get overwhelmed. So I will share a tip that helps me. Pick one project, be it the walls that need to be scrubbed, or the closets that need to be cleaned, cupboards that need weeded out, etc…….. just start on one project and stick with it. I have to exercise alot of self-disipline with this, because as I go I keep seeing more, and can get distracted on another area and not finish the first. Just stay focused. Hope this helps. Happy Cleaning!
Lavender is a natural antibiotic, antiseptic, antidepressant, sedative and detoxifier, very effective in the treatment of burns and scalds. Lavender promotes healing, prevents scarring and stimulates the immune system. The sedative effect helps to relax and calm nervous tension and is very helpful for headaches.
The antiseptic action of tea tree is thought to be one hundred times more powerful than carbolic acid, and yet is non-poisonous to humans. The Aborigines have been using this tree in their medications for centuries. Tea tree has been through a great deal of international research, its antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties make it very useful in a wide range of conditions. From all sorts of infections, ringworm, acne, athlete’s foot, and toothaches. So instead of commercial antibacterial soap, which dries the skin, tea tree is just as, if not more effective and much gentler.
All Natural Bath & Body Products
Did you know that skin is the largest organ of the body? Although positioned on the outside, it is the life and breath that keeps us covered. Along with the skin’s amazing functions, the skin can also absorb whatever it comes into contact with.
Consider the chemicals you’ve introduced to your skin over the years. Everything from irritating cleaners to shampoo and lotions can contain small amounts of toxic chemicals. The bloodstream then carries these toxins to the rest of the body’s organs, and there is no way of knowing short term or long terms effects of this exposure.
So why risk your health and well being when there are safer, healthier and milder alternatives to good hygiene? Using all natural and organic bath and body products reduces the exposure to toxins that may someday produce adverse effects. Toni Natural creates all natural products to restore a healthy natural balance to your body and soul.
